The artist incorporporated such wonderful detail in this dove, found in the ceiling of the Chapel in Carini Castle, located in the town of Carini, in the province of Palermo. The castle itself was built around 1075-1100 C.E. -- most of the frescos are original according to our tour guide.

That's amazing.
While we will be here long term (DH has been hired by an American company here), we aren't here permanently...I'm learning Italian, but since I have lost quite a bit of my hearing, it is slow going.
